PCUH Scholarships and Awards

The PCUH supports graduate students in their course of study while at the University of Saskatchewan.

Current Scholarships

Currently, the PCUH provides scholarships at the Master's level in support of work conducted in the thesis phase of a student's programme while enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan. Each scholarship is in the amount of $2,500 (non-renewable).The purpose of the award is to provide funding in support of research leading to the completion of a thesis pertinent to the study of Ukraine or Ukrainian-Canadians. The student must be enrolled at the time of the award in a programme of study, either humanities or social sciences, through the College of Graduate Studies, University of Saskatchewan.

Applications are considered after course work has been completed and other requirements have been met, including the formal approval of a thesis topic by the student's M.A. Thesis Committee.

How to apply

Applications are made directly to the Director, PCUH, St. Thomas More College. Applicants are asked to supply a prospectus of the thesis approved by the student's M.A. Committee; two letters of reference (including a letter from the thesis supervisor); graduate transcripts; and a budget statement outlining potential costs associated with the thesis research.

 

Other Scholarships

In 2005, a Graduate Centennial Scholarship was established by the PCUH. The purpose of this academic scholarship was to assist a graduate student enrolled in an M.A. or Ph.D. program in the humanities or social sciences at the University of Saskatchewan while working on Ukraine and Ukrainian-Canadian issues. The PCUH Graduate Centennial Scholarship was awarded to Mr. Serhiy Kostyuk who was accepted as a doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology, University of Saskatchewan. Mr. Kostyuk held the award from 2005 through 2007.
