Spring Session in Ukraine: Ukrainian Language Immersion Program
COSTS
Course Tuition
- $942.00 CDN for two 3 credit unit classes ($471.00 CDN for a single 3 credit unit course)
Tuition for the 2011 program follows the University of Saskatchewan tuition rates for the 2010-2011 Academic Year. The rate is quoted as of September 1, 2010. Tuition fees are subject to change.
Program Fees
The estimated program fee for the 2011 session will be approximately $1,725.00 CDN. This will include administrative fees, use of educational and computer facilities, individual tutoring, room, board, university meals, and airport transportation. This fee may be reduced slightly depending on the number of enrolments. The program fee DOES NOT include University of Saskatchewan tuition, course reading material, medical insurance, airfare, and out-of-pocket expenses. Students are responsible for these expenses separately. Airfare is estimated to be roughly $1900 - $2100 CDN (includes taxes). Medical insurance is approximately $100, and out-of-pocket expenses do not usually exceed $600 CDN during a 7 week stay in Ukraine.
Accommodations in Ukraine
Students will live with host families while studying in Ternopil, either doubly or singly. The homestay program is designed to immerse the student in the daily life of a Ukrainian family while helping to facilitate language acquisition. The cost of the homestay program is included in the fee structure.
Excursions
Depending on the level of group interest and participation, local excursions may be organized. In the past, two-day excursions to Kyiv or Lviv have been organized as well as the occasional day trip to historic sites (castles) and craft markets. Excursions, however, are NOT INCLUDED in the program fee and should be budgeted for separately.
